Developing regionally significant irrigation schemes is an iterative process.
The capacity and extent of individual schemes - and therefore their design - is refined as the results of irrigator feedback, technical and scientific studies and planning approvals are progressively known.

Sassafras Wesley Vale assessment underway
Sassafras Wesley Vale Irrigation Scheme

Assessment of the Sassafras Wesley Vale Irrigation Scheme Project under the Commonwealth's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act is underway. The public comment period closed on 27 August. Comment recieved has been considered and final Preliminary Documentation is now re-advertised. The Sassafras Wesley Vale Irrigation Scheme assessment page on this web site contains the project documentation which was released for comment and the TIDB's response to the comments recieved.

Welcome to the Tasmanian Irrigation
Development Board!

The Tasmanian Irrigation Development Board was established as a registered company by the Tasmanian Government in September 2008 to progress a suite of regionally significant irrigation schemes in many parts of Tasmania.

It is an expertise-based Board well qualified and experienced in major infrastructure projects, governance, negotiation and finance. The TIDB progresses the schemes from feasibility assessment through to the construction and operational stages.
