Project Aim

To develop a dam in the headwaters of the St Pauls River below Meadstone Falls to supply irrigation water to agricultural areas of the St Pauls valley and South Esk catchment. Rainfall and hydrological modeling indicate that to deliver up to 12,000ML a year with the necessary surety will require an impoundment of up to 30,000ML.

Project Status

The Meadstone project is in the dam Pre-feasibility stage. Work has focused on preliminary assessments of ecosystems and impacts, and engineering studies and surveys. The dam site survey and preliminary design are underway, as is a socio-economic study of the proposed project.

Next Stage

Complete pre-feasibility reports and develop a preferred option.
